Preview IRIS

Within VibSpec Software B.V. a computer program IRIS (Infrared and Raman Interpretation Support), is currently being developed that is intended to assist and alleviate the complex process of interpreting Infrared and Raman spectra.
The program is predominantly developed by Prof. Dr. J.H. van der Maas, founding editor of the Journal Vibrational Spectroscopy, who has great experience with the field of infrared and Raman spectroscopy. All his expertise on teaching, interactive learning systems and vibrational spectroscopy comes together within IRIS.

The general aim of the program is to provide rapid and simple access to
• correlation tables (the wavenumber regions of functional groups)
• typical spectra, with reference to characteristic features
• terms/concepts, commonly used in infrared and Raman spectroscopy
• the effects of molecular interactions
• trends in homologues series (examples)
• various types of vibrations
• a facility allowing for spectrum import (JCAMP-DX) and functional group suggestion

IRIS has been set up in such a way that access to information as regards functional groups can be gained by name as well as by structure.
It covers both inorganic as well as organic compounds and reference to literature is presented when appropriate.
For optimal use basic (theoretical) knowledge about vibrational spectroscopy is essential.

The program is evaluated on a regular basis and progressively expanded.
Currently emphasis is on infrared, though Raman is gradually being incorporated.

T o install IRIS please dowload the 'setup.exe' file to your computer (save) or run it immediately (open).

After free registration you can run and test the program for 1 month free of charge.
After that period you can buy a copy for € 1500,-.
The price for academic users is fixed at € 850,-.
Licensee shall pay all taxes. Licensee owes VAT at the rate applicable in the Member State where he is based.
