Within VibSpec Software B.V. the program IRIS (Infrared and Raman Interpretation Support) is developed. IRIS is intended to assist and alleviate the complex process of interpreting Infrared and Raman spectra and is not a search program. The general aim of the program is to provide rapid and simple access to
- correlation
tables, wavenumber regions of functional groups
- typical spectra, with reference to characteristic features
- terms, commonly used in IR and Raman spectroscopy
- the effects of molecular interactions
- trends in homologues series (examples)
- various types of vibrations
- spectrum import and functional group suggestion
Access to information as regards functional groups can be gained by name as well as by structure. IRIS can be of great use for educational purposes at Universities and analytical departments in industry. The largely extended version 4.0 is available since July 2010 and compatible with Windows 7.
